COL Virgil S. Williams, USA
Chief of Staff/Director of Administration

Colonel Williams is from Lorain, Ohio and was commissioned upon graduation from the University of Toledo where he received his undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts.  He also holds a Master of Arts Degree in Management from Webster University and a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College. Colonel Williams’ military schooling includes the Armor Officer Basic Course, the Quartermaster Officer Advance Course, the Combined Arms Service Staff School, the Command and General Staff College, and the United States Army War College.

Colonel Williams has served in a variety of command and staff assignments, most recently serving as the Chief, Program Integration Division HQDA Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management, Commander United States Army Garrison Vicenza, the Director of Logistics, Multi-National Force-Iraq, from August 2004-June 2005. Other key assignments include Chief, Logistics Plans and Exercises Division United States Pacific Command, Camp Smith, Hawaii; Commander 101st Forward Support Battalion 1st Infantry Division, Ft. Riley, Kansas; and Senior Logistics Advisor to the Saudi Arabian National Guard Director of Logistics Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Early in his career, Colonel Williams was a Cavalry Platoon Leader in 1st Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment.  He then served in Germany as Supply and Services Staff Officer, 32 Army Air Defense Command.  From November 1987 to July 1989, he commanded the 229th Supply and Services Company, 1st Maintenance Battalion, 7th Group, Augsburg, Germany.  In July of 1989, he returned to Ft. Bliss, Texas, to serve as Battalion S4,

Range Command and the Regimental Material Management Officer, Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment.  Following Army Command and General Staff College, Colonel Williams served as Support Operations Officer, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division and Chief, Supply and Services 1st Corps, Ft. Lewis, Washington.     

Colonel Williams’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Achievement Medal, and the Parachutist Badge.
