SUBJECT: QA HAZARDOUS RECALL – Simplicity Cribs Recalled by Retailers; Mattress-Support Collapse Can Cause Suffocation and Strangulation

Scope: Worldwide

In last two years the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has recalled numerous styles of Simplicity brand baby cribs manufactured by Simplicity Inc. due to various hazards. This time Simplicity full-size cribs with tubular metal mattress-support frames are affected. This recall includes fixed-side and drop-side cribs.

Name of Products: All Simplicity Brand Baby Cribs

Importer/Distributor: Simplicity Inc., of Reading, Pa. (this company is no longer in business)

Manufactured in: China

Hazard: These cribs pose a risk of serious injury or death due to entrapment, strangulation, suffocation and fall hazards to infants and toddlers.

AAFES is recalling all models of Simplicity brand cribs sold through our Exchanges.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using any Simplicity crib and find an alternative, safe sleeping environment for their baby.

Instructions for Consumers: Customers should return the recalled cribs to AAFES for a full refund.
